I don’t miss managing England – Southgate

Former England manager Gareth Southgate has revealed that he does not miss managing the national team, despite leading the Three Lions to a World Cup semi-final in 2018.

In a recent interview, Southgate stated that while he thoroughly enjoyed his time with England, he is now focused on his role as the manager of Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur.

“Managing England was a great experience and I will always cherish the memories, but right now my focus is on Tottenham Hotspur and helping the team achieve success in the Premier League and in Europe,” Southgate said.

Southgate also mentioned that the pressure and scrutiny that comes with managing the national team can be overwhelming at times, and he is enjoying the more day-to-day coaching responsibilities at club level.

Despite stepping away from the England job, Southgate will always be remembered for his leadership and tactical acumen during his time with the national team.

Under his guidance, England reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, their best performance in a major tournament since 1996.

Southgate’s calm and collected demeanor on the sidelines earned him praise from fans and pundits alike, and he is now hoping to replicate that success with Tottenham Hotspur.

As he continues to focus on his club duties, Southgate remains grateful for his time with England and the opportunities it provided him.

While he may not miss managing the national team, Southgate will always be grateful for the experience and the memories he made with England.
